Bilateral meeting of Cyprus, Slovenia, Belgium and Poland in Olsztyn, March 2007
Thursday 29th of March was the day of our guests’ arrival. In the evening we met in a restaurant for a supper and our friends had a possibility to try typical Polish dishes (zrazy and żurek). We also agreed what we will do during our meeting in Poland.
Conference – dissemination moment
On Friday 30th we had a big dissemination moment for Stellla project. We organized a conference called “Prospects of adult education with the usage of e-learning” and we invited many important local authorities from Warmia and Mazury region (president of the city, person responsible for the education in the Warmia and Mazury region, people from the Marshall office, many head masters of Centres of Practical and Continuation Education and of course teachers from our school).
We were talking about the following topics:
- SteLLLa project
- National adult education systems of Belgium, Cyprus and Slovenia
- Educational policy for adults in Olsztyn
- Adult education in Warmia and Mazury region
- The usage of EU funds for regional education
- Prospects for development and usage of the Internet network in Warmia and Mazury region
- E-learning platforms
There were also journalists from our regional television and some newspaper. In the evening we could see our conference on TV.
After the conference and quick lunch at school we started our workshops. Partners from Belgium, Cyprus, Poland and Slovenia presented their ideas and ways of evaluating our project. We were working on it the whole afternoon and we managed to work out a list of questions which will be used to gather information from all the partners and finally to evaluate Stellla project.
In the evening, after the long and eventful day, we had a Polish supper in the restaurant by the lake.
We started on Saturday quite early. The whole day we were working on questionnaires both for learners and for teachers. All partners had their questionnaires so we had a hard nut to crack. The results of our work are two drafts of questionnaires. We will present it in Cyprus to all partners and try to create the final version of it. Both questionnaires will be put on-line so it will be easy to fill them in by teachers and learners and of course it will save time to collect all the answers.
At noon there was also a possibility to see our school and meet with our learners. Of course we did not forget to do some sightseeing in Olsztyn. Together with the tour guide we visited the castle where Mikolaj Kopernik lived and worked, the museum of Warmia and Mazury, the cathedral and the old town.
After this 'cultural' break we came back to work on our questionnaires.
In the evening everybody deserved a good food and drink so we had a good time in a restaurant in the city centre.
