Mission of the institution

The ANFE Delegazione Regionale Sicilia provides programs and services that are designed to meet the life-long learning needs of the adult learners. The mission of ANFE is to empower adult learners to advance in their careers, learn new skills, or gain personal satisfaction. The school strives to fulfill this mission by providing several kind of courses, varying from art & design to information technology, and a wide array of flexible services aimed at the needs of the adult learners.

Activities

Performing learning courses for students, unemployed people, or people who want to get a re-qualification to improve their professionals skills.
Organizing vocational training courses and orienteering services to overcome the unemployment condition in Sicily.
Stimulating the development of cooperation on themes related to cultural integration between people from different countries, communication and sustainable development.

Target group and number of students

Groups of people (each group made of 15 students) trained to the new technologies (databases, web design, computer networks, office automation) or arts (pottery decoration, wood restoration, body-care and so on).

All students must be at least 18 years old and they are either unemployed, or people belonging to disadvantaged categories (like disabled, prisoners, or drugs-addicted), or yet employees that just want to enhance their professional skills in order to advance in their career.

A total of about 200 people attend our courses and get trained every year.

Rooms with 15 PC's connected in a LAN (Local Area Network) and with fast Internet access available to all students 24h/24
Desktop sharing applications (i.e. Netmeeting)
Multimedial courses available on CD-ROMs
Papers, manuals and other educational material downloaded from the ANFE's Intranet area (access controlled by password)
